The International Association of Business Communications Philippines (IABC Philippines), an association of top business, industrial and organization communicators and professionals in the country, launches its latest initiative IABC PH CommChat Series, a webinar series that serves as the communicators’ survival guide amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
IABC PH CommChat Series gathers industry-renowned communication professionals to talk about timely and insightful matters especially curated for practitioners and students alike. It also aims to dissect the different ways how communicators can adjust to and survive the quarantine economy or what most call as the “New Normal”. It is free for all and can be viewed live on IABC PH’s official Facebook page.
IABC Philippines appointed ComCo Southeast Asia as the official creative partner for the IABC PH CommChat Series, which was launched in July.
The pilot episode entitled “The Pandemic and the Communicators’ Guide to Surviving Professional and Personal Challenges” sought to answer how student and professional communicators can still be on the right track in pursuing their careers in communications and related disciplines, and how they can take care of themselves and each other during this challenging time.
Dave Devilles, the Vice President of CSR, Sustainability and Employee Relations of Union Bank of the Philippines and IABC Board Trustee, moderated the panel comprised of Niña Terol, Chief Marketing Officer of Talino Venture Labs, and RJ Naguit, the National Chairperson of The Youth for Mental Health Coalition, Inc.
The second episode entitled “Adopt to Thrive: Stories from the Tech-Adept Communicator” focused on how brands/ companies have utilized available digital technologies to further its communications objectives, especially during the current pandemic—be it to promote its brand, motivate employees, and reassure customers and other stakeholders.
For this episode, Abigail L. Ho-Torres, the AVP and Head of Advocacy and Marketing of Maynilad Water Services, Inc., moderated a panel of speakers that included Francis Christian Lubag, the Senior Marketing and Communications Advisor of Aurecon, Andrea Zulueta-Lorenzana, the General Manager of Piandre Group of Salons, and Laura Verallo De Bertotto, the CEO of VMV Hypoallergenics.
