Advocacy-driven communications agency ComCo Southeast Asia continues its mission of Igniting Social Change amidst the many challenges brought by the quarantine economy through its “Citizen ComCo” program.
Through Citizen ComCo, the Agency extends its advocacies to support individuals greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises, including children, frontliners, and calamity victims.
Camp ComCo Alumni Society supports the frontliners of PGH
The Camp ComCo Alumni Society, together with its mentorship alma mater ComCo Southeast Asia, decided to have the frontliners of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila, Philippines as their beneficiary for their annual outreach activity.
The alumni and its advisory council had an online fundraising project among its members to prepare some food for the PGH frontliners to acknowledge their sacrifices during the pandemic as well as express a simple gratitude through a timely outreach program.
The recently established Camp ComCo Alumni Society is an organization composed of graduates of ComCo Southeast Asia’s Camp ComCo Mentorship Program from its 4 mentoring houses (House Bearcat, House Flyingfox, House Hawksbill, and House Whaleshark) and 12 cycles. It aims to continue the program’s revolutionary learning culture among its members and supporters, proactively participate in meaningful relevant causes for social change, and continue and grow the alliance of the alumni.
Support for World Vision’s COVID-19 Emergency Response
ComCo Southeast Asia backed up its long-time NGO (non-government organization) partner World Vision on its health emergency response and its appeal to the public to help them support frontliners and the most vulnerable Filipino families in the battle against COVID-19.
The child-focused humanitarian agency warns the public that the children are not exempted from the effects of COVID-19 as there are reported cases of kids contracting the disease. Many Filipino children are also experiencing disrupted education and shortage of basic needs due to the lack of source of income of their families.
In response to this worsening problem, World Vision, with the support of its communications partner ComCo Southeast Asia, is actively providing aid through several emergency response efforts such as distributing triage tents to the hospitals in the metro and giving out basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the frontliners.
#CagayanNeedsHelp Relief Drive with Bloggers of Tuguegarao
ComCo Southeast Asia became one with the Bloggers of Tuguegarao to provide aid on the many individuals greatly affected by Typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan.
The Agency raised financial assistance for the blogger group’s #CagayanNeedsHelp relief drive that aims to help rebuild communities from the typhoon-stricken area.
“Our team from Bloggers of Tuguegarao is grateful and honored to have partnered with your respected agency. The communities that we serve are beyond thankful for the pouring of help. We are in this together and know that we appreciate your help. This collaboration is the start of more meaningful and fruitful work that we will do in the future. We acknowledge your help, and we look forward to a robust collaboration with you,” said Mr. Janford Bonifacio Leguiab, Founder, Bloggers of Tuguegarao.
ComCo SEA’s Write to Ignite winners and their chosen NGO beneficiaries
In addition to these, ComCo Southeast Asia engaged charitable institutaions and non-government organizations Humanility, SOS Children’s Villages and World Vision Philippines’ COVID-19 Emergency Response to be the recipients of the donation of the winners of the Agency’s Write to Ignite Blogging Project. The allocated donation is part of the prizes won by the winning bloggers. Grand Prize winner Kurt Comendador from General Santos City chose SOS Children’s Villages. 1st Runner-up Carla Araniego Sangoyo from Malabon City picked Humanility while 2nd Runner-up Cris Rufflo from Cebu opted for World Vision Philippines’ COVID-19 Emergency Response. The “Write to Ignite Blogging Project”, ComCo Southeast Asia’s initiative co-presented by Eastern Communications and sponsored by Electrolux, Jobstreet, and Teleperformance, is a response to the need of our times, as every story comes a long way especially during this period of crisis. An initiative open to bloggers in the Philippines, it aimed to highlight the triumph of the human spirit to inspire the nation to move forward amidst the challenging times.
“As the entire world face continues to be challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises, our support to one another is more than essential to help us recover. ComCo Southeast Asia, through its Citizen ComCo initiative, extends some help to the most vulnerable individuals and communities during this period. We will all stand strong amidst the many difficulties as long as kindness and compassion continue to ignite among us,” noted Mr. Ferdinand Bondoy, Regional Integration and Chief Executive Director of ComCo Southeast Asia.
